Celebrated glass artist, Jo Munford, wanted a flexible garden that would give her the opportunity to present her glass sculptures beautifully, but also serve as a beautiful and relaxing series of spaces to enjoy throughout the day. The design needed to build on aspects of the original garden and we wanted to introduce a playful use of recovered materials and saved treasures.
The new layout features an enhanced dining area, a feature breakfast space with an air of sitting at a tree-lined piazza, and a lush corner for snoozes in a hammock; alongside carefully positioned artwork spaces, and the introduction of strategically placed trees to increased privacy and shelter. The plans lean heavily on soft-scaping (planting) to bring them to life, with a beautiful site-maximising naturalistic style.
